The Wedding Day

This day was everything! Warm and welcoming, traditional and contemporary. Regan and Steven, we’re nothing but sweet and accommodating. From the tea ceremony to the handmade ceremony details, the day ended up more than perfect. Even though the weather played games with us all morning, the sun ended up shinning for us during their I do’s at the botanic gardens. I was so happy for them.

Many months ago when Regan and Steven first contacted me and they were busy booking their wedding, there wasn’t any plan to do a traditional tea ceremony. However, I am so glad that they ended up doing one! I love any opportunity to photograph something new and this was my first traditional tea ceremony.

After the tea ceremony, it was time to get ready for their ceremony at the botanic gardens. I really like it when couples have their weddings at the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens, it’s so picturesque. A truly natural setting. Guests always seem to enjoy themselves, strolling around the grounds. It’s definitely one of my favourite venues, the Aga Khan Garden in full sun is amazing.

Photographers! don’t be afraid of full sun, I love the way Regan and Steven’s images turned out.

The rest of the day was filled with the classic shoe game and some great speeches. I loved watching everyone dance into the reception, I couldn’t personally help but smile behind my camera. Most importantly, thank you, Regan and Steven, here are my favourite images from your wedding day!
