Reegan & Keagan’s Backyard Alberta Elopement

The Wedding Day

Well as we all know Covid has been crazy, makes me cringe to even write that! Nevertheless, it was a very real thing that we had to deal with. And unfortunately, it meant that many weddings has to cut down their size, postpone, and really just do a 180 from what the original plans are. I always try to be as flexible and as accommodating as possible with my clients pandemic or no pandemic. Weddings are stressful enough on their own, why would I as a vendor add to that stress? I see no reason to make my clients’ lives more difficult, I want to be as easygoing for you (my clients) as possible.

When Reegan and Keagan called me up and said they were rescheduling their wedding I completely understood. I think in grand total I did maybe 5 weddings during the year of the pandemic instead of my normal 20+ I was expecting the call. However, I loved that they instead decided to go for a little spring elopement on their property! They asked me if I was cool with that and of course I was! I’m always delighted when my clients call me no matter what!

It really was a true elopement! Reegan and Keagan didn’t tell their parents that they were doing this. They just had themselves, their best friends as witness, the officiant, me, and of course their dogs. With so many people’s opinions surrounding weddings (especially with covid), it’s even more important to just do what you and your partner want to do. These two just wanted to be married, they were ready for that next step in life. I love that they did it for them! We’ll have the big party later, that’s still on the books, don’t worry!
