The Wedding Day

A cloudy day, a backyard acreage wedding day. Two people who have clearly spent the time building their lives together, Ashley and Ryan married in August. I had the opportunity to join them on their land for a second time, the first being their engagement session. It was snowy the first time I was there, I loved being able to see it in full bloom.

Overlooking their ceremony I watched as Ashely and her bridesmaids viewed the guests arriving, greeting each other, and hugging. Often I tell my couples, always expect to see me smiling ear to ear behind the camera. Notably, if anyone has a tissue in their hands, and that was Ashley and Ryan’s ceremony to a ‘T’! I have to say I commend Ashley for being a beautiful crier, rather than me. I am so certain that when my wedding rolls around I will ugly cry, a lot!

Ashley and Ryan were amazing to photograph, willing to go the extra mile for that great capture. Also, I think more couples should bring a bottle of champagne, one for the drinking of course because it’s your wedding day! And two because I love a champagne shot! It without fail creates a true honest reaction that is never scripted, I love seeing the look on people’s faces. The joy and excitement always makes me laugh along with them.

Of course, the reception went off without a hitch, instead of holding their shoes for the classic shoe game. Ashley and Ryan held photographs of their beloved dogs, personal touches to make the wedding day more unique is always a win!
