Evolve Strength Gym Downtown Session

I photographed some new headshots for Hannah at her gym in Edmonton. Hannah is a personal trainer. An amazing powerlifter, and trombone player! Which is how I met Hannah, through her husband Joel. Joel happened to be one of my music teachers from back in the day! I have a long history with the Gray family now, I met Joel when I was still a teenager. I played in a Big Band in high school and then moving forward when I attended music school at MacEwan.

So it was fun having an opportunity to photograph Hannah now in a space like this, slightly a lighting nightmare but I like something that challenges me a little more. It allows me to develop my skills a little more in a much more practical sense. I’ve photographed almost every member of the Gray family now, I know we have a family session with their two daughters on the books to. For some point in the future.

Environmental portraits are amazing, I honestly think they are so much more exciting than standard portraits with a backdrop. While equally as nice, environmental portraits tell much more of a story in my opinion. Thank you, Hannah, for allowing me to photograph you!
