Melanie and William’s Fernie Alpine Lodge Wedding.

The Wedding Day

Melanie and William married in beautiful British Columbia in December and I was lucky enough to go all the way with them, the nearly full day’s drive was worth it spent amongst them and their intimate wedding in the mountains. But we were able to happily spend a good couple of hours outdoors taking photos. Although I think Melanie might beg to differ a little as, she was, after all, wearing a gorgeous backless dress.

So I believe she was, in fact, a little chilly, but let me just say this girl is an intense hiker so we all knew she could handle it and it is always worth it. Melanie and Will shared a first look, followed by the two of them exchanging the sweetest personalized vows I’ve ever heard. There was so much emotion between the two of them, I thought I was incredibly touching. They choose not to share their vows in front of everyone during the ceremony but instead kept that for just themselves.

Hot drinks were provided for the guests of the outdoor winter ceremony and a sparkler ‘cheers’ were taken on the front steps of Fernie Alpine Lodge after. Of course, some of my personal favourite photos of the day were taken later that evening when I snuck these two out for some last-minute shots and included the sparklers again, they really are that dreamy.
