The Wedding Day

Hi friends I’m so happy to be sharing Erin and Matt’s classic country club wedding Edmonton, easily one of my all time favourite venues in Edmonton! Not only is the long driveway down to the club stunning as it’s lined with lush trees, but once you arrive you’re met with a gorgeous view of the river valley itself and downtown Edmonton just off in the distance.

I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to kick off my 2022 wedding season! I love it when my couples trust me implicitly to create both equally cool and beautiful images for them. You’ll see as you scroll through the pictures, by far my number one favourite moment of the day was when the wind picked up Erin’s veil. With her dress style, the backdrop and Matt’s black tie look, it created a very cool art-deco look!

I’m really not a fan of just throwing the veil or dress up in the air, I used to do it in my early days of capturing weddings but I ditched it. When the wind look is forced, I can tell. I’m a firm believer that it’s not my job on your wedding day to force anything. My job is to capture whats happening and make it beautiful! I love a windy veil shot, but I want it to happen naturally. The way the wind picked up Erin’s veil, I can’t fake that. I can’t control which way the wind wants to take it. It was able to move around freely and create a much more unique and stunning image.

The day went along so smoothly, absolutely no complaints! Every detail was perfection, we were even lucky enough to have the most beautiful sunset for some end of the day bride and groom portraits. Amazingly we were granted permission to drive out on the golf carts to one one of the back greens and take some of these pictures for Erin and Matt at a bench dedicated to her grandfather. What an amazing way to wrap up the wedding day!
