Professional Headshot Session Edmonton

I photographed some new headshots for my beautiful mum on the weekend while she was visiting me from Calgary! She was in need of some new professional headshots so of course I was the one who had to take them. Luckily for her, also free of charge. I’m kidding friends, I wouldn’t ever charge my own mother for private one on one headshot session. My mum is the best person I know. She is the strongest person I know. When she sets her mind to something she doesn’t bat an eye, she go’s after it!

I’ve learned so much from her and I am who I am today because she told me I could always go after my goals. My mother encouraged me to be a photographer from a young age (although it took me years to actually find it myself). And I love my mum for always supporting me. She does and gives so much to the loved ones in her life. So many others that come into contact with her. I love her very much and feel very lucky to have her as a role model and parent.

My mother is an executive coach so when she told me she needed an updated headshot for her business and linkedin I knew exactly what to do. I set up my beautiful grey backdrop next to a big window source. If there is natural light I will use it. I find it so flattering on the face. With just a little bit of soft shadow on the side to add dimension. No one wants a flat image. You need the shadow to add contrast and detail. I’m really happy with how these photographs turned out, just a great example of how simple a good headshot can be. It doesn’t have to be overall complicated.
